The Louisiana Redbud Festival was founded on March 26, 1964, when representatives from most of the civic organizations in town met to discuss the possibilities of promoting the beauty of our town when the redbud trees bloom in early spring.

It is now one of the longest running festivals in the state of Louisiana.
